Checks Mailbox First To See If Her Kids Wrote Yet

Livingston, NJ (June 27, 2016) – Last summer area mother and resident nut job Shelly Shapiro, 45, made national headlines when she dropped her children at the Livingston Mall camp buses and drove directly to Camp Huron Lake to be the first on line for Visiting Day.  This summer, Shapiro, after a winter of intense parenting psychotherapy, decided to hire an Uber driver to wait in her place ensuring she will still be the first mother to see her children on Visiting Day.

After sleeping through Visiting Day last summer as a result of taking a cocktail of two Xanax and 400mg of Flexeril for a bulging disk in her back brought on by twenty-eight days of sleeping in her car while subsisting on power bars and Tab soda, Shapiro knew that waiting on line for a month again would not prove to be positive for her health, her family, or her career as a time management consultant.  The negative backlash from her children and the camping community that followed Shapiro for months last year spurred her decision to hire an Uber driver to wait at the camp gate this year.  Not only will she have quality time to spend with her husband, she will also be able to continue working, going to the gym enabling her to be a better parent to her precious Jakey and Jyssyca.

While some of her friends think she’s crazy for spending so much on an Uber ride, Shapiro insists this option is easily her most cost effective one.  “I requested a ride with a pick up on Huron Road for the day we dropped the kids off.  I know I’m going to be late and I’m fine with paying the $10 late charge for any wait time over two minutes,” Shapiro explained the method to her madness. “I’ll call every few hours for the next four weeks to let the driver know that I’ll be right there.  If he threatens to leave, I’ll just give him a negative review.  Probably will be the best $10 I’ll ever spend.  Well, $11.80…I like to give Chai as a tip.”

Unbeknownst to Shapiro who has decided to “unplug” from electronic devices like her kids this summer, Visiting Day was moved up one week in order to avoid the Monster Energy Drink Christian Rock Festival in the area at the end of Week 4 meaning she will likely miss this year’s Visiting Day as well.
