Kalshi Now Taking Bets on all Camp-Related Competitions

Lake Huron, PA (July 13, 2026) – In an exciting development impacting the camp community, Kalshi, the prediction platform that allows users to gamble on anything, is now accepting bets on intercamp games and tournaments as well as Color War and bunk/divisional contests.  Wagering has long been a staple of sleepaway camps and now, with this revolutionary app, campers can finally cash in on pretty much anything within their summer homes.

So far this summer, Kalshi has taken several million dollars in bets with heavy action coming in on the Gordon Cup, Timber Lake’s annual twelve camp roller hockey tournament.  The host camp has won the several times over the last decade and is the prohibitive favorite while English Forrest, a performing arts camp, is a long shot at 500,000 to 1 odds.

“I really like being able to get some betting action in the summer, especially on my kids’ games,” noted Craig Goldstein, father of Timber Lake star defenseman Sidney Crosby-Goldstein. “What’s nice is that I can win some cash to help defray the cost of his seven weeks away.  The downside is if they lose, my kid’s not getting his favorite sushi on Visiting Day. He’ll eat what the camp serves.”

Another competition that has been heavily bet on is the 30th annual Camp Huron Lake Ultra Boys first camper to get underarm hair competition. The odds on favorite is Great Neck’s Jordan Grischkan whose brother won the competition in 2023.  Kalshi has ruled that any hair has to be visible to the naked eye and verified by a member of the health center in order to avoid last year’s fiasco when Josh Greenstein hot glued some pipe cleaner fibers to his left armpit.

Allowing Kalshi gambling has not been without controversy.  Last week at a junior girl swim meet tournament at Camp Wanna Wanna Bee, the host camp was accused of stacking their team with older campers in order to ensure it won the four-team competition for the seventy-fifth straight summer. Several max bets came just moments before the meet began raising a red flag about whether the fix was in.

Several officials have questioned the ages of some competitors.

Las Vegas handicapper Lou Antonelli noticed a big swing in the meet’s betting action.  “I got guys at all the camps so I know what’s up.  This Wanna Wanna Bee girl apparently hit puberty early and we checked her medical records and my associate found a copy of her birth certificate that looks legit. I’m putting the house on that nine year-old. If she don’t win, she’ll be going to the town rec program next summer.”
