Lake Huron, PA (July 21, 2026) – As part of their Visiting Day bunk gift, a group of Super Senior boys from Camp Huron Lake received then devoured a full sheet of brownies just moments after parents were ushered off the camp property. Unbeknownst at the time, the brownies were infused with delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the active ingredient in marijuana. Approximately 40 to 45 minutes after ingesting the chocolatey sweetness, the boys were seen eating every Visiting Day leftover and philosophizing about the true meaning of sleepaway camp romance.
The brownies were a gift from parents Tanya and Ryan Schwartzman who unfortunately returned home to two dozen non-near-coma-inducing wastes of perfectly good chocolate, butter, and sugar. It was the fourth consecutive summer that the bunk requested Mrs. Schwartzman’s “famous brownies” as their Visiting Day gift.
“We had a list of stuff we needed to bring up to camp, had to be at least thirty things. I guess in my haste I grabbed the brownies from High Life Cannabis since it had a big ‘HL’ on the packaging. I thought the ‘HL’ stood for Huron Lake because god-forbid we bring something up that isn’t personalized,” Schwartzman explained. “After dealing with mobs of annoying parents pushing to the front of the gate, cutting me on the BBQ line, then sitting in traffic on the way home, I couldn’t wait to just sink my teeth into three or four squares of mind-erasing goodness.”
While the rest of the camp was crashing down from the high of spending the day with their parents, eating their favorite foods, and checking their sorely missed phones, the boys of Bunk 31 seemed to forget that Visting Day happened only hours prior. Fortunately for the boys, counselor Brett Jacobson, a rising junior at the University of Vermont, figured out why the boys were acting so strangely by the familiar taste he’s enjoyed on a daily basis while away at school.
“Good thing I took the rest away from the kids. I told the bunk not to tell the head counselors what happened and I’d lock the confiscated brownies in my drawer for safekeeping, of course,” Jacobson remarked while ordering a camper to find him some milk to pair with the six or so brownies he ate with remarkable ease. “I’ll have them wear sunglasses to dinner then ask for an ETB (early to bed) night to let the fellas sleep it off.”
Mrs. Schwartzman’s brownies have always been one of the highlights of Visiting Day but this year they brought the bunk to intoxicating new levels of euphoria.
“Schwartzie’s mom’s brownies are like crack. This year they’re so good that my head is spinning. I’ve never eaten something so delicious that it makes me feel numb,” mentioned Bunk 31 camper Josh Shapiro. “Let me tell you, that woman can bake!”
